Opening and Review of Joss Kendrick Girl of the Year 2020 from American Girl

Today I will be opening and reviewing the new 2020 Girl of the Year Doll Joss Kendrick from American Girl. I did post an opening and review on my YouTube channel if you'd like to take a closer look at her outfit and the doll itself. Here's the link to the video:

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to American Girl for sending me this product for free to review, I really appreciate it!
Be sure to comment down below your thoughts and opinions on Joss Kendrick and if you're planning on adding her to your doll collection.

The doll itself comes in an American Girl box with a box pattern exclusive to her collection. The pastel striped pattern on the box is lovely as the sunset colors suits her surfing storyline ☀️

Here's the doll out of the box standing next to her dog Murph. She has long brown hair with lighter highlights, brown eyes, feathered eyebrows and a new face mould. It seems as though the face mould between a Marie-Grace and a Josefina mould which different from any other face shape we have seen before. What do you think of her face mould? Be sure to comment down below your thoughts!

Her meet outfit is quite casual compared to some of the other ones we have seen over the years but it suits her storyline and personality. She comes with a teal and white hoodie with a wave print design on both sleeves. There's a zipper in the middle which opens and closes and a Joss logo near her left shoulder. She is also wearing a pink bodysuit and denim shorts. The denim shorts do have some stitching designs near the pockets and the buttons are just for design purposes as you use velcro to open and close it. Her sandals are a bright pink color to match her bodysuit. They remind me of the shoes that Lea had in her collection a few years ago but instead they were a lime green color ðŸ’š

Joss's character was born deaf in her left ear and uses a hearing aid on her right ear. This is why she comes with hearing aid set in her collection which you can add to her right ear. It does fit easily in her ear and is also removable too.

Here's a clearer picture of the hearing aid on Joss. If you'd like to see how to attach and remove the hearing aid, be sure to visit Joss's opening and review video on my YouTube channel.

As you can see, her meet hairstyle is quite simple this year, though does suit her personality of always being on the go and practicing sports, whether its skateboarding, surfing or cheerleading. There are two small pieces that are twisted together and connected with a hair elastic. This meet hairstyle also allows everyone to see Joss's hearing aid too.

It might be hard to see in the photos but her hair is brown with some lighter highlight. There are layers in her hair, but the hair length itself is a great length to try out different hairstyles in her hair. Her hair is very thin though and there is not a lot of it so it will be interesting to see how her hair holds up over the year.

The side angle shows the length of her hair along with how thin it is too.

Overall she is a lovely doll and will be a great Girl of the Year doll for 2020. I love how her storyline is all about sports especially since the Olympics are on this year. Surfing is debuting in the Olympics this year so it's a great tie in. She is also a wonderful first time doll if you don't have any dolls in your collection and if you are planning on buying your first doll, I would recommend her. I know how hard American Girl works on developing the GOTY collections so it's a lot fun to see her entire collection in person and how it all comes together. What do you think of Joss Kendrick and her meet outfit? Be sure to comment down below and if you haven't had a chance to see the opening and review on my YouTube channel, be sure to go and visit it:

Who Wore it Best? Joss's Cheer Practice Outfit vs Joss's Competition Outfit

Hey Everyone!

I often post 'Who Wore it Better' posts on my Instagram so I thought I'd bring it over to my blog. For the first photo, it's between two of Joss's cheer themed outfits: her Cheer Practice Outfit and Cheer Competition Outfit. Her Cheer Practice Outfit includes: a sports top with the words 'Cheer' printed on them, a tank top and leggings. The shoes she is wearing is from the Cheer Competition Outfit and the blue bow is from her Cheer Backpack Set. As for her Cheer Competition Outfit, she is wearing the dress, shoes and bow that is apart of the set. She is standing on a stunt stand which is apart of her collection too.
What do you think of these outfits?
Which outfit do you think suits Joss and her personality better?

Hey everyone!

American Girl just released clue #3 for the new Girl of the Year 2020! I was lucky enough to be asked to film the clue while visiting the headquarters in Wisconsin a few months back. So far there have been two other clues about the new GOTY. The first clue revealed that there will be a surfboard in her collection and the second clue showed her new cheer practice set. American Girl Surf and Cheer Loft Bed Tour!

Hey everyone!

Today I thought I'd give you a tour of my new loft bed room and why I picked the items I chose to add in the room.  If you'd like to see the entire room setup, be sure to visit my YouTube channel, agoverseasfan, or click on the link down below! If you could pick between the ocean themed loft bed (green) or the cheer themed loft bed (purple), which one would you choose? Be sure to comment down below!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hglPZad_i68

Both of the loft beds that I used for the doll room are from retired GOTY collections. The green one is from Gabby's collection, while the purple one is from Mckenna's. For the loft beds I tried to make Gabby's the ocean themed room and used a lot of blues and teals, while Mckenna's loft bed was styled as a cheer room where I used a lot of pastel items, mainly pinks and purples.

Gabby's loft bed doesn't have much shelving so I tried to add a few feature pieces in her room. The small trinket box is from a local store, while the bottle and shell are from American Girl. The Polaroid camera is from the 'World's Smallest' collection. It's too big for the dolls but I like using it as a decor item in their rooms. The shell mat is from Justice but I decided to use it as a wall feature instead, while the rest of the ocean items are from WellieWisher sets! Have you used any of the WellieWisher items in your doll rooms before?

Over in the cheer loft bed, there's more shelving options to display more accessories and items. On the top shelf there is a radio from Melody's collection and a few beforever/girl of the year books in a storage box. As this is a cheer themed room I have included a few trophies that I bought from a local store for Addison's room a while back.

On the bottom shelf, there are a few doll sized games from a variety of doll brands and some dog themed accessories (dog food, dog shampoo and a toy).

There is a compartment in each loft bed to store doll outfits and to match the ocean themed room, I added in doll swimsuits into the teal section.

As for the cheer room, I added in a few pastel dresses to match the rest of the accessories in the room.

The side tables were harder to style compared to the rest of the loft but I put aside my teal/green doll accessories and had a look to see what suited the rest of the room.  I wanted to add an earring tree to the room, as there is a jewellery compartment to add a shell necklace from Julie's collection. Other items on the desk included: a textbook, sunglasses, nail polish, beauty items and a doll sized fidget spinner.

Over in the cheer loft bed, most of the items on the desk are a pink/peach colour. The strawberry milkshake is from Maryellen's collection, while the other items are from either from American Girl, local stores or other doll brands. I especially love the mini Hatchimal accessory which is actually a lip balm I found at my local store!

Over at the front of the loft bed I added in Kanani's chair and Tenney's rug to continue with the ocean theme. There's also a diving ring toss set in the corner from the American Girl Pool set.

The chair and accessories in the cheer loft bed are quite different to the ocean loft bed. The pastel chair suits the items on the desk quite nicely, while's Blaire's bag is a great addition too.

The bedding is mainly blue and teal with some ocean themed animal decor pillows, both of these are from the WellieWisher sets. Kanani's PJ's tie in with the rest of the items on the bed and just to finish it off, I added in a doll sea turtle book.

As for the cheer bed, I tried to find pastel themed bedding and this one from American Girl suited the loft bed itself as they both feature purple. The throw pillows used are some of my favorite ones and I feature them in most of my doll rooms. Tenney's PJ's have been placed on top of the bed and the last item I added was a book called the Secret Garden.

Overall it was so much fun to set up this doll room using an ocean and cheer themed setup. Be sure to comment down below which loft bed you prefer and I will leave the link down below of the entire video setup.
